Overview
Lookinglass Babble remembers the chat rooms and discussions you have recently visited, and lists them for you for quicker access in the future.
This is your list of subscribed groups.
In a web browser, this list is found in your main-menu, which can be reached by selecting the Main Menu link at the top of the main window.
In windows, this list is found in the Groups tab in the main window.
-
Adding Groups
In order to add a new group to your list of subscribed groups, just enter the chat room, or go to the discussion.
It will be automatically added to your list of subscribed groups.
-
Group Values
Each group listed in your subscribed groups lists a number of values associated with the group.
Occasionally you may see values that have a question mark (?) after them.
This means that the values may not be correct because the group is hosted on another server that this server has not managed to contact recently.
-
Email
This option is only available for discussions and not chat rooms.
If checked, any new articles posted to the group will be automatically be sent to you by email as long as you have specified a valid email address in your user setup.
In a web browser, you must click save changes after checking the email box before it will work.
-
Items
This is the number of articles/messages in the discussion or chat room.
Old items may be deleted after a few days, so this value can go up and down over time.
-
New
This is the number of articles/messages in the discussion or chat room that have been posted to it since you last visited it.
-
Users
This value only applies to chat rooms. It is the number of users who are currently in the chat room.
-
